4th Annual Mardi Gras Tybee Feb. 17th & 18th, 2012

On February 17th and 18th, 2012 the Tybee Island Tourism Council will present the 4th Annual Mardi Gras Tybee celebration on Tybee Island, Georgia. Tybee is a natural setting for the Mardi Gras event due to its unique character and fun-loving residents.
The event will encompass the traditions of Mardi Gras, an event with origins dating back to the ancient Romans and carried on today in cities such as Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana. Mardi Gras is held on the last day before the start of Lent.
Tybee will be dressed in an array of purple, gold, & green flags depicting the Tybee Mardi Gras celebration. Mardi Gras Tybee will include a Masquerade Ball, the Mardi Gras Tybee Parade, the Mardi Gras Tybee Street Party featuring free live entertainment & more.
